CITY GENERAL ELECTION NOVEMBER 4, 2003

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2003.

At this election, candidates running for Mayor, First District Commissioner, Third District Commissioner, and At-Large Commissioner will be on the November City’s General Election Ballot.

POLLING PLACES

CITY OF THREE RIVERS

PRECINCT ONE - HOPPIN SCHOOL 415 NORTH MAIN ST
PRECINCT TWO - HUSS SCHOOL 1008 8TH STREET
PRECINCT THREE - COMMUNITY CENTER 103 SOUTH DOUGLAS AVE
PRECINCT FOUR - MIDDLE SCH BAND RM 1101 JEFFERSON ST

Please contact the City Clerk for information regarding Absentee Ballots. The last day for Absentee Ballots to be mailed is Saturday, November 1, 2003.

To everyone else, Please get out and vote. Local elections are often mistakenly overlooked as unimportant. In reality the decisions made at the local level often have a much more rapid and substantial effect on us than do those at state and federal levels. Exercise your right and vote.

I will second that. I would also like to wish Ken luck today and thank everyone for being a part of this forum.

P.S. To the people who have said kinds things to me (and about me) on this forum or through email. I wanted to thank you separately and let you know that it has meant a lot to me.

Well I was there at 7:00 this morning and happened to be the second voter. My exit polling at that time showed the race was too close to call. My people haven't sent me an updated poll since then so I am not sure where I stand at the moment.

Buck, never give up (not that I think you will). I have to admit, I am surprised.

356 votes.... and only 325 in the only race in contention...[:(]

I really wish we could skip the off year elections. In spite of the magnitude of local politics they are just simply ignored. And then there is the cost of several thousands to hold this. It would be great if we only held them in even years with state and federal issues to draw the masses. That would, however, mean the term would be four years. Anyone care to voice an opinion on this.

Once again I want to thank everyone who supported my campaign. Your support and encouragement has made this whole thing a much better experience for me. I made some new friends and formed some alliances that I think will have some major impact on the future of Three Rivers.

I definately will support you in anyway. I would like to help with your campaign. I don't think it's too early to start now. So, QUIT thinking that you aren't sure if you are running again or not. We aren't letting you decide! LOL

Seriously, if you don't run again, you will dissapoint to many of us who know you. Just think about what I said. Do you really want to see our dissapointed faces? I didn't think so!
