I have two observations about tonights meeting.
#1 The city, and I think I have already said this publicly, should not be involved in the real estate business. Besides being out of the scope of responsibility, in my opinion, it is a terrible waste of the city's time and resources. I am also sure this will not be the last time issues like what came up tonight come to the commission again or worse go to small claims court.
#2 Ken Baker's absence from the commission was a terrible loss for the commission. He is a no nonsense kind of guy and even when I disagree with him I still respect his stance on an issue because it is usually reasonably and well thought out.
