THREE RIVERS Lively discussion and a healthy exchange of ideas was the order of the day during Tuesday morning's Downtown Development Authority strategic planning session held in the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce conference room.
The DDA's subcommittees had done their homework and came prepared to put forth proposals for the upcoming years schedule of activities.
Among the topics as list-toppers was consideration of how to attract a "destination restaurant" to the downtown district a proposal that has been dear to the DDA's heart for some time.
"We need to decrease the 'restaurant leakage' to outside communities," DDA member Danielle Moreland urged.
DDA chairperson Jeff Zimont suggested that Southwest Michigan First, which is under contract with St. Joseph County which has stationed Von Washington, Jr., in Three Rivers, would be a great resource to tap.
