Hell yes. The city has more money than it knows what to do with. Let's everyone chip in.....oh, that's right - we already have. Hopefully this will bring in more shoppers and businesses - yeah right. Absolutely mindless.

These people are all in bed together. They think they can do pretty much anything and get away with it. THIS IS OUR MONEY NOT THE CITY COMMISSIONS OR CITY MANAGERS. WE ARE THE ONES PAYING THE BILL. Have you looked at your water bill lately? Do you think the City Manager or City Commission will forgive your bill ????????? Not a chance in hell.
They are not funding the DDA, we are. They are not paying this bill, we are !
This is unrighteousness personified.

City employees are being asked to make concessions. The Police department has lost valuble employees and city services have been cut many times over BUT THESE MINDLESS CROOKS ARE THROWING AROUND OUR MONEY AS IF THREE RIVERS CITIZENS WERE ALL RICH.

Hey People this is one we can't stand aside and let happen. I know I have been out of the game for a while but I'm willing to fight this one if I can get some support. The DDA took out the loan, they need to pay the bill !!!!!!!

Blaine, You said it so much better then I could have. Yes I am with you all the way on this one! I think that the DDA had this planned last summer. They have not done anything for the 2nd district, yet they want the loan forgiven, and have plans to paint the mall? Lowery has not paid the DDA tax for the home owners in the 2nd district. If I would have trusted him to pay my taxes I would be a month late without knowing it!! Why don't they pay the city so we can have some money on hand for emergencies. Think these are mindless crooks? Wait until the next group comes in after the election!!!!!!!!!! It only gets worse

Blaine - I am behind you 1000% on this. I am going to be out of town on the 18th but have already talked to Earl and intend on talking to Wendy and George as well. The DDA asked the commission to allow them to dig this hole and the commission acquiesced. Now that they have found themselves looking up trying to figure out how to climb out they want us to forgive the debt that they took on. What happened to the refinance of this loan that was going to take place? They asked for this and got it. If the loan is forgiven I will personally start recall petitions against all sitting members of the commission that had a hand in this. Enough is enough.

I think I can add one or two more bodies to a recall campaign, if needed.

Rally the troops and talk to as many as you can. I'm sure most of Three Rivers citizens would be appalled by this action.
What I'm afraid will happen, is this vote will take place before most Three Rivers citizens knows what's really going on. That has been their tactics in the past and I see no reason for them to change. It was successful before, why wouldn't it be this time !!!

Another issue to add to this is the increase in water bills. If you remember during the discussions with forced chlorination's the increase was to be 6 to 11 dollar increase BUT look at your water bill, it's more like 35 to 40 dollar increase. Also if one remembers, one of the big reasons for the Constantine water project was to be able to keep Three Rivers water bills low. Now that has also gone out the window TOO.
THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. THEY- WILL- SAY- ANYTHING- TO- GET- WHAT- THEY- WANT, BUT WILL NOT KEEP THEIR WORD ONCE THEY GET IT.

Remember the PROMISES given to the DOWNTOWN EXPANDED DISTRICT. Their words went like this, THIS WILL NOT BE A TAXED DISTRICT, WE PROMISE !! And their promises meant what ??? It meant, we won't tax you until we want more money !
Trust is something one earns by ones behavior. By their behavior we know WE CAN'T TRUST THEM. THEY WILL DO WHAT'S IN THEIR BEST INTEREST AND SCREW THE REST OF US !

I talked to Earl who seems to be on the fence (hint, hint) and George who is in favor of it. Can't get Wendy to return my calls.

Is our comission deep in the DDA's pockets? They do not care what the average person wants who put them in office. They have always voted where the money is. They will tell you what you want to hear and they are with you, then they go to the meeting and vote totally opposite then what they told you. Earl,Wendy and George don't care they are gone in a few weeks. These guys will all support the DDA. To hell with us even though it is our money they will not listen.

Hell, we can afford to forgive the loan. I am sure with the hike from our water and sewer rates we can even pay for Bippuss to get a new Durango too.[:D]

OK it sounds like many many people have had enough of this garbage. So I'm looking for a Commission meeting date where WE ALL can storm the castle or in other words, pack out the meeting.

2 issues
1. The 180,000.00 that the Commission is considering forgiving the DDA.
2. The unrighteous, outrages water bills.
My neighbor just showed me his water bill, it was 145.00 for just the 2 of them. When they called and questions the bill, they were given a song and dance about faucets leaking or toilet running, which neither were true.

This crap has gone on long enough. We need to rally the troops to attend a Commission meeting soon !! We also need to contact the press about the meeting taking place. It also would be very effective to pick a date and picket city hall so that we make everyone aware. I'll be glad to lead that charge. I've got a little experience in that realm! Even circulating a petition would carry some weight. Then after we've completed these steps, we need to contact the Attorney General and make him aware of these financial practices our city hall is trying to get away with.

I would like to know what they're doing with all this money collected from these unrighteous, outrages water bills.

We can't just stand by and let them get away with this. They really think, all we will do is complain a little and let it go with that. We need to take action and let them know they've gone way to far this time.

So those who said they were 100% behind me, let me know what you think and if you have other ideas !!

We will get the Government we put up with. Evil flourishes when good people do nothing !

Blaine, your neighbor is getting a deal on the water. They pay $145.00 for 2 people. I pay $105.66 for one person! I have tried to cut back on water usage but, I am in there lowest rate scale so I do not think it will help. Before the increase I was paying $66.00. Is there going to be another rate increase when Constantine backs out? The city can use the $180,000.00 to pay down our water/sewer/street bill. There are so many places this money is needed instead of the DDA.

Blaine - In answer to your question about George - yes, he is in favor of forgiving the debt. His words to me were that it was in the City's best interest. I guess forgiving the debt is worth it if we get the mural mall repainted. I know everybody in town has been waiting for that.

Wendy is for forgiving the debt also. She said DDA can not get a loan because the DDA is the city and they can not borrow money from themselves. The state says the money has to be used for the DDA district if it is forgiven. If so why not do something to improve distrit 2 that they have not done anything with. Instead of the downtown. The DDA has deceived the whole city this time. Not just the second district. Does not matter what the citizens want. Our commission has forgotten who elected them.Is there anyway that this can be voted on in November by the citizens?

So again the DDA gets their way. The citizens get screwed over again. The DDA does not honor the debt or their word and that's OK with the Commission.

Water bills have gone threw the roof with no justification for the size of the increase. The 6 to 11 dollars per month that was original discussed is like it never existed and the citizens continue to put up with what ever this City Manager does plus he has the Commissions blessing. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING but the normal for Three Rivers.

Now you know why I gave up on the whole mess.

I talked to a restaurant manager last night. He said their water bill has gone from 8 to 9 hundred a quarter to 2,100. a quarter. A 60% plus increase. There is absolutely no justification for this amount of increase BUT AS I SAID BEFORE, WE WILL GET THE GOVERNMENT WE'LL PUT UP WITH.
