I had the chance to see the article in the Three Rivers Comm. last week reguarding the City Commissioners rolling their eyes when Gretta was talking about a issue. That statement is correct and we are wrong for doing it. I can only speak for my self, but that is something that I won't do again. Some times I don't realize that I'm doing it until my wife tells after the meeting me or I see it on tv myself. But I just wanted to let everyone know that I was aware of it... Thanks

It is one thing to post a rant on the Internet (like I do), it is quite another to do it in public in front of cameras. Here, I have the ability to edit or erase my remarks, yours are all recorded in real time. Although I find myself in disagreement with many on the commission most of the time. I have a new respect for what it is they do. Ronda's run for a seat was a huge eye opener for me.

Cool Rowdy - I don't know what it was that compelled a response to the editorial, but it's commendable. Good luck in keeping a pledge like this.

Rowdy,

I commend you both as a citizen and fellow commissioner for taking this criticism constructively. I’ll do my best to keep it mind as well and try to keep you in line [;)].

Now a question for you. Will you support reinstating the city website forum? Before you answer that, take a while and go back through the discussions here. I believe you'll find a bit of the negativity, anonymity and radicalism that was originally so objectionable to the commission. You will also find real discussions about real topics and people getting involved in government and in their community. You'll find arguments for and against a great many issues. You'll find some Three Rivers history and nostalgia, notice of events, kudos to the many who deserve them and even a bit of criticism.

I am confident that the more you read, the more you'll see the value of not only allowing such discussions but doing everything we possibly can to encourage participation.

Let me know what you think.

Daryl, here is a discussion about the topic you brang up.

Will the Three Rivers Forum be reinstated?

I just reread the entire post and had to laugh because I stated that I was not going to change the Liberty 1st Mission Statement. Funny how reason can sometimes creep into our minds and change our views on things that seem important to us at the time.
