It just doesn't seem to be a priority for them. I guess they don't see the NEED for citizens to see or hear the commission meetings. What's it been, 4 years now that commission meeting are difficult at best and impossible much of the time to see or hear ! I hoped Wendy and George would have insisted that these meeting be aired. It seems the lest little thing takes more priority than airing these meetings. In this day and age you would think a government would be able to handle this, it doesn't give one a whole lot of confidence in their ability or their concern to bring commission meeting to the citizens. If they were serious about this, it would have been done by now.

It amazes me they don't take it more seriously. It seems to be no big deal to them no matter who sits on the Commission. The Aug.4Th meeting is what's on the sight right now. Who's holding the city manager and his staff accountable??
I hope George and Wendy and Mayor Balog for that matter are reading this because the Aug. 4Th meeting airing right now is totally unacceptable.

I thought the monks from the Abby were being used to write the minutes from the Aug. 4th meeting? You know Middle ages style stuff before the printing press type thing.

It's quite amazing to me, that with all the real issues we have in Three Rivers the Commission acts like things are running like a well oiled machine. It's like this is what they want to believe rather than dealing with the problems, they simply abdicate their responsibility and let the City manager do whatever and then they act like their doing their job. I know of many times where commissioners come to a meeting
poorly informed as to the agenda for the night!!
The waste water plant is in it's current condition because of neglect and lack of maintenance.
Daryl wants to pretend it because of natural wear and tear to the equipment. It seems other Commissioners are comfortable to get on Daryl's band wagon. We're going to get a whole lot of accountability from that frame of mind?
I've talked the the employees there, it's because of Jim Rozeboom and Joe Bippus and neglect, re-responsibility and lack of maintenance, no matter what they want to pretend.

Now how about the Airport. The problems are so numerous it's hard to know where to start so let's address this one to Wendy Shank - WELL OILED MACHINE- what planet are you living on ?
Open you eyes and talk personally to Airport board members, let will give you a passionate and forceful answer that has nothing to do with well oiled machine!!

Now walk down to Scidmore Park and try to find a picnic table sound enough to safely sit on and after finding one take a look around, maybe at the gazebo falling over or the state of the Zoo. How about the vandalism issue the police are constantly dealing with or not.

The issues are many and the current Commission seems to have a lack of real commitment to do something about it.

The airing of a simple Commission meeting seems to be more than they want to or are able to deal with.

I remember not to long ago where Mayor Al Balog was really upset about a commission meeting that Tom Lowry went off on a rant and it wasn't aired. Al even called Joe about it and told him to make sure the meeting was aired, It was finally aired a few weeks later at 8:30pm rather than it normal time in which All again was quite upset. I know because he called me about it.
Where is his passion now?? How many citizens are really going to listen to a commission meeting rather than watch one.
Actually I believe most citizens have just given up on even attempting to watch a commission meeting. What a sorry state of affairs!!

When the commissioner's don't show up for the meeting why should the citizens.

I don't know of any one not showing up except for sickness or medical problems. Who are you refering too.

Voters might forget, about the rumor that Bippus had an open assessment on his Welton property.
And, at the November 16th Commission meeting, in response to a letter by Bippus's, discussion was opened by Griffith. The City Attorney (then and now) stated the assessment was an error.
It was moved by Foster, seconded by Griffith, to clear the assessment from the property, and the entire Commission voted to remove it!

Where is politics more interesting - Chicago, Detroit, or Three Rivers?

I thought it was St.Louis, butt Chicago has more (creative) politicians. Narcissism 101, the class every good politician attends.

Here's what I see: Wendy and George are new to the commission comparatively speaking. Joe has been on pretty good behavior and the facts about the Wendy Hostetler case were never brought into the light via a compromise. I believe if the current commission fired Joe now over the Wendy H. case that they would be in the same boat as Joe was if they fired him now.
The CPW plant issues are being resolved, Jim R. is gone.
In a time of unemployment at 15% maybe the picnic tables at the park can wait.

Lovinlife. What type of Amish buggy fuel waste by product was that? Really Bippuss should be one of the 15%. This is the type of thinking that Bippuss and Mayberry Daryl want.

The Riverside PILOT project in on the agenda for this Tuesday, December 7th, at the Commission meeting.
The City manager and the City attorney are the same as 'Welton'.
The cast of characters on the Commission has changed, or has it?

With Video, the voters and taxpayers could watch from home, or wherever they watch from?
