I am concerned about the Harris Connect Inc. Publishing Co. I received the yellow card for Marshall University Alumni. (I saw the comment left by someone from a high school but didn't know how to return to it once I got registered.) Most places will give an internet connection but this company wants you to contact them within the next 7 days to verify mine and my husbands information. They knew what year we graduated, so someone has done some homework. I was wondering if this was an identity scam or if anyone knows if it's for real. I figure too...being a publishing company they simply want to sell me a yearbook prior to completion of the project. What better way to cash in on the plane crash than to send out cards to all of Marshall's alumini to verify you info? I'm a newbie..so someone out there let me know...then again..how am I to know that you are ligit?? [:I]hmmm

I talked to a local principle, this publishing is totally legit and only updating their records for future publishing. I myself recieved and recieved the neccesary information.

Yeah, that's right, it's a legit company. But the reason for contacting you to verify the info is so they can deliver their sales pitch to sell you the directory. You also becoame a customer of theirs opening up the high probability that you'll be contacted by phone sales reps for other products or offers they're related to.
In other words...contact them and the floodgates will be opened.
