Carol Higgins For Michigan House

St. Joseph County • Nov 4, 2008 7:02 AM

ELECTION DAY! Vote Carol Higgins for State Representative. She is by far the best candidate! She has researched local issues and gotten involved. She has been at important township meetings (for example, Leonidas CAFO) speaking up for residents, when her opponent did not even show up. She has taken trips to Lansing with Rick Schaeffer to learn about what happens behind the scenes and the strategies of the government. She LOVES river country and will do everything she can to improve the issues that face the citizens there. She has fought hard to run a race without seeking endorsements so that she can think for herself in Lansing and not be influenced by money. Even so, she is currently the ONLY candidate in district 59 with a regular recommendation from the MEA. Though she does not advertise it, like her opponent, who knows his preffered candidate status from the MEA expired after the primary. HELLO PEOPLE- We need a politician we can trust! If we can't trust Matt Lori with a simple advertisement, how can we trust him with our tax dollars? If you haven't done your research, do it before you vote. The political party does not matter, Carol Higgins truly will make the best decisions for the district. For a quick comparison, visit the websites for both candidates: www.higginsformichigan.com www.mattlori.com. It's challenging to find one idea that her opponent has for the district. Also, listen to the podcast of their debate and the passion and enthusiasm exhibited by Higgins is hard to beat. http://www.rivercountryjournal.com/Audio/A_CANDIDates_Conversation.mp3

from above:"What has Carol Higgins done? For anything, let alone, establishing any policy that improves the lives of our community?" BBB- Are you serious? What has Carol Higgins done to improve the lives in our community? I can't imagine a career that contributes more to the community than teaching.

Ballot Proposals1&2

glad someone started this topic as i'm still undecided on prop 2. prop 1 is easy for me. vote yes. i was searching for more info on prop 2 and came across some links that may be helpful to people- http://www.ctvmichigan.org/elections/proposals.htm the president of this program is awesome and i respect him. while i was at the site of the Citizens for Traditional Values, i also looked at the endorsed candidates for the districts. district 59 was simply skipped.http://www.ctvmichigan.org/elections/endorsements.htm hmmm, i happen to know someone who is running extensive ads with this endorsement - just wondering where the miscommunication is taken place since i'm still skeptical about the "perferred" endorsement by the MEA. is that a made up word? or a made up endorsement? oops- off track. anyways, if anyone can help me decide on prop2, i'd appreciate it.
