Bailout Automakers?

Now they are talking about salary cuts and working for a dollar a year, should have been talking about that quite some time ago. This was not something that snuck-up on them! If they do under thousands will be out of work and hundreds of suppliers will go under too but the executives will be fine because they have been making bank for years. It's sick really.

I found the articles interesting. If the holiday traditions mean something to you different than what the origins intended that's fine but pointing out the true origins or intentions isn't an attack on Christianity. It's interesting history. Christianity isn't based on decorating a tree, exchanging presents, and having a big dinner. Doing so does not make you a better Christian just as not doing so does not make you a bad Christian. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is something that I am thankful for everyday. If a Christian child is allowed to pray in school and have a Christian Christmas holiday program than the Muslim child must be allowed to as well-even the Wiccan child. Then there will parents screaming "I want my child to be able too practice our choice but I don't want my child exposed to that choice" If you allow one you must allow them all. I send my kids to school to learn academics and I'll handle religious beliefs and morals. That's not just my right it's my responsibility.

I don't think any of us will ever know all the details that contributed to this poor girls death. It's only when their is a tragedy like this that most people take notice of the thousands of children that need help. So take notice, if you aren't able to help these children by becoming a foster parent or advocate make sure our elected officials understand that this is not an area to cut standards, training, and funding. If you have a suspicion, make the call don't wait for someone else too or assume that it would do no good anyway.

I think i'll have to find that ombudsman's report again because as i understood it complaints were "screened out" because they didn't meet the definitions of abuse or neglect so the ombudsman recommended new definitions. DHS is not short of procedures and definitions designed to protect children, they are short of people. Short of people because they are short of money. When people and politicians complain about money being spent on welfare programs everyone needs to realize that Children's Protective Services and Foster Care are included in those welfare programs. The state had to be sued by a children's rights organizations to force changes.
