Three Rivers Health
Three Rivers Area • May 19, 2009 9:05 PM
Buck~ I apreciate your comments/input that you have expressed from post postings; however, it's quite clear that you haven't experienced what many of us have with Three Rivers Health in the last year. Their lack of respect for their tax paying customers at both the hospital and their cash paying members of the Health Trac clearly was a HUGE in the millage defeat. MANY of us wouldn't have even bothered to go vote NO if we hadn't of been treated so disrectfully by both the staff and through management of Three RIvers Health this past year. I personally rallied 20 of my family members to go vote NO and it had nothing to do with money and everything to do with how unfair and unprofessional that we've been treated as members of the Health Trac. They removed the wash cloths without notice- imagine how we reacted when we went to take our shower after we worked out for an hour to find no washcloths- they couldn't even show an ounce of respect to have posted a notice ahead of time. They removed the towels off of the floor because it was stated that if the members didn't see them, they would "overuse them". They raised membership fees two weeks before christmas when it was obvious that they knew months before that they were going to have to- show some respect and give a reasonable time to fit it in their budget. I could go on and on but in the end we were treated unprofessionally, we were misled on many facts and when we called them out on it, they changed their story. I'm not going to call Steve or Matt names, but I totally can understand why many do- they have been aware or many problems and they have shown no compassion to us, so why should we support them? NO, I haven't been to their board meetings and I don't know what decisions that they have had to make but building that entrance vs buying new equiptment that they now say is out dated or fixing the roof that is 20 plus years old shows me that obviously they didn't have their priorities straight. I was told that Matt said that if they built the entrance that "people would come"- when's the last time you drove by a hospital and said WOW that's beautiful- I want to go there? Please!!! I'd rather hear about their state of the art life saving medical equiptment and awesome doctors and staff- it could be a polebarn setting on the outside for all I care. Matt showed up at the Triple creek race for the first time ever and basically told us that if we wanted the race to start back on the pot hole road that we better vote for the millage and then went on to explain that the hospital roof is over 20 years old and needs replaced- that was not the time or place- those runners were there to race not to get that jammed down their throat- it just showed a lack of class and it was embarrassing to us locals as many runners weren't from the area and had no idea what he was talking about. Lack of class!!! Lastly, I wish that I could get an honest estimate of the road repair- I've heard $30,000 and $50,000. It's like the cost of washing towels at the Health Trac- it was first $20,000 a month~ then $15,000~ then $5000~ then $12,000. It leads us to wonder if they honestly don't know the financial aspects or they have a had time with telling the truth. We would have all personally helped them along time ago with anything- but that was before their lack of honest communication blinded us. As for the closing of the road- I can only say that it's real sad, but so sad that it's the funniest thing I've heard this week. I feel like my mommy just sent me to my room.
Dan Riggs speech to the citizens of St. Joseph Cou

Dan~ I don't understand why you don't feel that your supporters have the right to know what your plans are for our county's sheriff's department. Your adminstration team is just as important as all your plans that you have addressed in your speech. We don't vote for the President without knowing who the VP is. If it's because they don't want anyone to know at this time because they are tied to Balk, then what kind of character do they really have? If they support you and your plans and you have faith in their capablities, then why won't you want them standing proudly with you?
November 4th Election
St. Joseph County • Aug 20, 2008 12:58 PM
Trading Tales~ I was sitting close to Brad all night during the election and he answered every phone call that came in- but unfortunately he had SO MANY people calling him that he can only speak to one person at a time! His phone wasn't stuck to his shirt- it was to his ear and besides, with all the cheering going on who could even hear a cell phone go off?
The new Sheriff's Race
St. Joseph County • Aug 15, 2008 1:23 PM
cuzinrite~ I agree that a smart tactian allows other to battle, but the debates were really meant for ALL the candidates to inform the community of their plans for the county's sheriff department- afterall, that's what this election is about! Dan Riggs missed an important opportunity to lay out his plans and that's why they had the debates, afterall he was on the ballot last week. Truthfully, it shows that Dan Riggs isn't as strong as a leader or a person that wants to jump right into the community. Poor decision I feel!
