What do you like about Three Rivers?

Just in case anyone is interested - probably about 10 years ago I found a book about TR at the local library for sale at about $9.00. It's VERY interesting - stories about indians and different events that shaped TR. I re-read it every so often just to remember how our town was started. I wish I knew more about the Kellogg strawberry company - more about everything! If anyone has any input I would LOVE to hear it. I love hearing about the "good ol days"! Thanks Buck, for the old pics. I love history!

Great Publicity for TR

Runnachick- What is your problem with the jail ministry? I think Chaplain Jake Schwartz has done more for the inmates than any other church around. Yes Riverside runs a recovery program at the jail, but I believe if that program would stop serving all the cookies and coffee they wouldn't have near the turn out that they do at that program. I have also seen how well that recovery program works by seeing all the repeat offenders that keep returning after pledging their life to god through the riverside program. I'm sure the program has good intentions but lets see how many would attend without all the goodies.

I would think they plan on moving it. There are a few small things for kids to play on at Barrows now, but it's not enough. Also, the bus schedule will be changing for MSR. If I read the papers correctly, kids in the morning classes will be picked up by buses but need to be picked up by parents at the end of class. Afternoon kids will need to be dropped off to school by parents, but buses will bring them home. Another way to save money, I guess. I hope all this changes by the time my youngest is ready for MSR, otherwise we won't be interested! I absolutely love the MSR program but will not allow my child to attend with the adult ed students in the same building.

FYI - If you have a child attending MSR in the fall, it IS being moved to Barrows. I still don't see how they think this is a good idea...
