BALK FOR SHERIFF

My letter tells a very specific story about why I believe Brad Balk should become our next Sheriff. When I was working as a firefighter for Centreville and a reserve officer for St. Joseph County I had a tendency to drive a bit too fast when responding to a fire or emergency. I am a safe and responsible driverbut I do tend to drive a bit faster than I should at times. Brad Balk pulled me aside and delivered the discipline I needed in regard to my driving at excess speeds. Brad did not talk down to me, he did not threaten me and he did not treat me as a 2nd class citizen. He was able to deliver discipline in a mature and professional manner and for that I am forever impressed with his management and leadership skills. Throughout this campaign for Sheriff I have seen Brad painting signs, delivering signs and rolling up his sleeves to get the job done. He has motivated his committee not by intimidation or threats- but by showing them his appreciation and his willingness to help them get the job done. These are the characteristics that I want in a Sheriff. Someone who will spend my money as conservatively as he spends his own. Someone who can recognize when a mistake is made and handle the situation without embarrassment or harsh feelings on either side. Someone who will treat the citizens of St. Joseph County with respect and professionalism. Someone like Brad Balk. PLEASE join me in voting for Brad Balk on August 5th.
