Three Rivers Police need $ to replace K9 Officer
Three Rivers Area • Oct 17, 2009 3:31 PM
The event was a HUGE success. The community support we saw at this outing was great. Thanks to TRFD, Sheriff's Dept., and Animal Control for helping TRPD in the less that tropical weather. Thanks also go out to Paisano's restaurant for the warm refreshments. The next event is Friday 10/23 in Constantine for the Spaghetti dinner.

Hunter and Lockport, You present great information and support which is appreciated. The cost, medical , and training was not paid for by the city. That is not the point of the fund raiser. The effort to replace Anjia is not a decision to use tax dollars or line items. It is a donation based fund raiser. If someone chooses not to donate, that is their choice. Many will do what they can to help this program because it makes us all safer. a department K-9 is a MEMBER of the police force. To those that serve alongside them, they feel a connection just as strong as they do their own animal companions. We are fortunate to have officers that rally together for causes that benefit the community, and this is one of them. An enormous amount of work was done to make Anjia's addition possible and I support the people that made that happen for our community. I WILL be supporting the fundraiser, and that is MY choice.
So what about Mayor Balog?

I am a supporter of Mayor Balog. I feel that he has performed his duties very well and believes in acting on the best interest of the citizens. I don't envy the position he walked into on day one. He has also had to "Bang the Gavel" on some fairly ridiculous behavior in his tenure as Mayor. I believe that Mayor Balog is the future of Three Rivers. We have taken some large steps forward in ensuring the safety of our citizens under his charge (Fire/EMS/Police Equip. and the bodies to operate them). This is a fundamental requirement if we hope to be safe at home or in our neighborhoods. My hat's off to Mr. Balog for his service.....Thank You Mayor.
