Not real sure what your point is here, very confusing post, and hard to read. Just to clear up an issue: If a structure fire is dispatched in the City, the ambulance would respond with at least a Paramedic for medical emergencies to any residents of the home or be there if a firefighter gets hurt. a Firetruck would also respond with the three firefighters along with,(the same time,) the ambulance responds with Paramedic's, not ambulance drivers.[:(!]

Scott, I agree with one 100%. Station 2 and 3 work VERY well together. Another thing, I never meant to talk down to a volunteer Fire Fighter or a service. Volunteer members are the backbone of our department. My issue was your member (ask) was trying to tell how this department was ran. FYI the ambulance is staffed with one member, the Captain, which acts as a command vehicle. IF medical was needed we would then use another member. My point is, three fighters in one firetruck right at the start of a fire. ASK get your facts together before you try to educate people. Also so everyone understands all the members of TRFD are not trying to take over the Lockport township area, the township asked for a price for coverage, what I find interesting is the cost difference from US to LFP to the citizens.

First in regards to the City sending members. 1 paramedic responds in the ambulance, THREE members, who are also firefighter / EMT's or Paramedics, respond in ONE of the pumpers the City owns. By simple math that means ONE person running the firetruck, TWO members ready to make an initial attack and ONE member running command and staffing the ambulance should something go wrong. This does not count the On call members who would respond in other trucks. Second: They City does have more than one pumper, with water, and an aerial truck that carries water. DONT make it sound like the City has only one pumper. Third: In order to be a full time firefighter you are required to have a more training that that of a volunteer. Full Time members of the City need to have Firefighter level 1 and level 2, also need HAZMAT operations an need to have at least a EMT-B medical licence. I would love to here what a big city department member has to say about running off at the mouth about being just as good as a full time member. I'm sorry your 300 calls a year are not much to brag about. The City member have training all most everyday they work. Fourth: Just to let everyone know the city is already looking at replacing one of the three pumpers it has with a tanker/pumper and also outfitting a truck with a mini-pumper to be used as a grass truck. I guess my point is if your going to try and list facts for everyone, make sure you have all the facts. If anyone has questions, I invite you to call the City Fire Department and ask questions.
