I am not a fan of Griffin's BUT he does seem to be the only commission member prepared to fight against the status quo and not meekly sit there! WHO is supposed to speak for the ordinary guy if it is NOT elected officials. The Library board is appointed by the Commission and therefore it behooves the Commission to remonstrate if the Board either oversteps its powers, or tries to turn itself into an elitist group. IT IS FUNDED BY THE TAXPAYER!

Yep here we go again with another mean spirited bunch people. The guy's been there selling his hot dogs for five years! I took a look to see who is on the board and recognized several of their names. They seem to me to be a bunch of holier than thou academics who want to put themselves above ordinary folk. I hope the city commission puts its foot down. After all it's WE THE TAXPAYERS who are funding the library - it's not a private club for the board and the elite! People must like the service that the guy is offering or he wouldn't have been there for five years. Got a better idea CLOSE THE LIBRARY! Most everyone is on the internet now, or has access to it - so WHO needs the library anyway. That would save a whole bunch of taxpayer dollars!

Ballot Proposal for the November 2011 Election

That would be a big fat "NO!". Did anyone see the word "Inc." - CORPORATION!". While it may be "non-profit" - that does NOT mean low cost. They'll be able to spend, spend, spend to make sure they don't make a profit. Can we say "half million dollar salary" for the upper echelons. Blue Cross is a non-profit corporation - anyone seen their prices coming down? This is just another way for Quorum to squeeze the Three Rivers citizens!

N. Main Shell Station

Maybe everyone should make the weekly trek to Sturgis for their gas, which is always several pennies cheaper than anywhere in Three Rivers because of its proximity to the state border. If people would get together and work together, the loss to local TR businesses would be sufficient to impact their pricing methods! On the other hand, this is Three Rivers, and we don't even like each other, much less the rest of the county and certainly can't work together.

Park Township property tax records to go online

Three Rivers Area • Aug 16, 2011 5:57 PM

I guess between this information and google earth, this is a burglar and identity thief's dream. I'd like to know who gave the Park Township Board permission to do this, because it certainly wasn't their residents. Won't only be the federal and state officials challenged in the next elections will it!
