I believe you are quoting from a post written by "leavingalegacyforthem"!!!! Also, just for the record, I believe the administration has done the right thing with the investigation and punishment. If new information ever comes to light I am sure they will act accordingly and fairly regarding all involved.

Stillwaters - If there are people with a vandetta against him I have not seen it. The school has established protocol for such things. The teacher reported the information, the administration set up an investigative commitee comprised of specially trained personel. The commitee investigated (exhaustive) and reported to the school board. The school board and administration decided on a course of action. corrective action was taken against the employee. I do not see where that becomes a vandetta or a witch hunt. To get all those people to cooperate on an illegitimate complaint would be unlikely. All the problems (in my opinion)started when chase began to claim publicly that this was just about a comment made during a game and was magnified when he started accusing the JV coach of causing or creating the complaints. I have no bad feelings towards chase, as I stated before he is a good teacher and a great coach. Furthermore I think the school system did an outstanding job at gathering and processing the complaint and information. They performed a tough task with fairness to all involved. cuzimrite - I am sorry. I see your point and I agree. The home is the starting point for their entire lives. In many ways their lives are a reflection of their homelife. If a child today can come out of the forest of acne, internet porn, hormones, and acne (?) then it calls attention more to the home than to the school. I have a sister who's a retired Michigan school teacher. She always said that if the child had a problem at home, that child would be a problem in school. The effort put toward a child's education by his/her teachers, is only respondant to a good home life. I thought it was a good time for a little humor. Like most of the time.

Cornflake -Your not slow. For the most part the punishment is the dispute. Some think his punishment was excessive (see the first couple pages of this forum). That led some of us who know better to offer some facts about the real issues here. Some (like legacy I think) feel he was not punished enough. I choose to place my trust in our elected school board knowing that they will do whats best for the community. I believe they punished him based on only the allegations that they could substantiate. If all of the allegations where substantiated I do not believe he would have a job. But I also believe we can not and should not fire and/or punish him without due process. So you have some people who think he was punished too much for just a minor incident and some people who think he got away with too much without sufficient punishment. This is all complicated by the fact that personel issues and files are private! So I do not believe you will ever see a formal announcement with any substantive information. It is common knowledge in the community that as part of his punishment he was forced to resign from coaching. I know there where other steps taken as well but that does not seem to be common knowledge and I do not want to inflame the situation any more then we have. Again, I think we need to trust those that we elected to protect our community interest. I am also sure he will be under way to much scrutiny to attempt anything like this again. He is a good coach, I think maybe mens sports would be better for him! Originally posted by Cornflake_Girl I must be slow. Because I am confused again.
