Mayoral Election...More Police???

Three Rivers Area • Oct 29, 2007 6:44 PM

Originally posted by Rowdy Keith I know this is redundant but I would also like to hear from Mr.Balog on how he plans on keeping all of his promises...how does he plan on getting the funds to achieve some of his goals? You aren't going to hear any specifics. I assume Mr. Balog will be winning the election since he is so good at telling people what they want to hear in simple, easy snippets, whatever his agenda actually may be. What about Buck's information about lack of enthusiasm by officers for the more dangerous policing jobs? If you could track down more specifics, that would be a good newspaper article. The Commercial might take it on, or the Kalamazoo Gazette. That would get the word out w/o costing anything!

Re-Elect Tom Lowry Novemeber 6, 2007

Originally posted by Jen E Jac He didnt say Mr. Lowry was evil or maniacal. If pointing out the other candidates weaknesses is improper, why even have a forum? Ah but it's one thing to make specific criticisms and another to just imply as he did (repeatedly) that everyone else is lacking in integrity, dishonest, etc. That way Balog could turn the forum discussion nasty and ugly, while still being able to come away smelling like a rose, saying "I didn't SAY Mr. Lowry was evil or maniacal."

Originally posted by DarylGriffith tIf you believe in what you are fighting for, don't let giving up be an option... Democracy IS slow, and hard work, and I am so glad there are people in our community who can and will sit there and do it. I'm just feeling really discouraged though after listening to Balog be so negative at the candidates' forum. It's depressing when he gives the impression that if he says something is or isn't so, that's the way it will be, and the facts or other opinions are irrelevant. It makes me sad that he seems to have much less interest in Three Rivers than in the interests of the surrounding townships. Is this really what people here want? I just can't understand it.

Signs, signs, everywhere there's (campaign) signs!

Good grief, to read all this you would think we all live in the kind of insanely tidy gated community where the trees all have to match and they tell you what color curtains you can have in your windows. None of the signs look that messy to me.

Candidates for Three Rivers

I am very surprised so few people showed up for the candidate forum! I would have gone but something came up, so I watched it on television. Does anyone know if it will be re-broadcast?
