Sheriff's Reserve is seeking funds for body armor

Originally posted by amazon Good luck on that fund raiser, but know that there's another one right around the corner... That is the beauty of a fundraiser.....If you don't like snickerdoodles or what they stand for....then do not participate and if you do, well pour yourself some milk and enjoy. This allows those who see the value in armor vest for our police officers an opportunity to help. One is judged by their actions not their words.

Prop #1 rules

I think the real issue is that most people do not know what their rights even are. When do the police need to read you Miranda? When can the police search my property? Can I be stopped for not having a license plate light? Many people believe that law enforcement is trampling on their rights when the police have the authority to do what ever it was they did. I am not so naive to believe there are not a few bad apples in the bunch, if fact, I believe the work itself sometimes draws people to it for the wrong reasons. However, I believe most of these people are doing their job according to the law. Maybe the laws should be changed but until they are, we pay them to enforce our existing laws, whether you agree with them or not. One is judged by their actions not their words.

It was nice to see Brad at the Candlelight vigil for the victim of domestic violence and sexual abuse. It is so important to have committed elected officials involved with programs that serve our citizens. Prosecutor John Mcdonough was there as well as the representatives from Sturgis PD and Three Rivers PD. It was a somber program that highlighted the need to work together to combat domestic violence and honored the victims and family members of those who have been killed by a domestic partner or relative.
