Why is the economy the way it is? Corporations, bankers, corrupt government.....fiat currency basically, and opportunistic monopolies. Americans are only consumers/revenue to these people. If anyone thinks otherwise, well, perhaps that's why we are in the state of despair that we're in. We're shirked our responsibility as Americans. Allowing a democracy to sneak in and wittle away at the republic. Having a republic takes a ton of personal responsibility to keep. And we're all busy with other things. They've bought us up, and want us to pay double duty. Like big oil in the news currently. We pay at the pump, we pay them with our taxes too. How an entire nation can be good with that, I'll never know. The profit my dear is going to a choice group of financiers and big business owners. Still playing the old stimulus game. It's all a ruse. If we leaned more towards Hayek instead of Keynes style economics, we would be much better off. The big business guys are profiting off of that as well. It's way too extensive to get into on a little forum page. If you've never watched "Money, Banking, And The Federal Reserve", or "Money As Debt" (both on google vid) I think that would answer some of the question much better than I ever could here. _________________________ Just A Little 'Ol Liberty Addict. I unfortunately come from a large corporate family . The extension of that family helped the corporate family outsource the work for better profit margin. What was thousands of jobs, is now at last count 65. Yes, the corporations are making bad decisions. The unions, though that is a touchy subject, have made it also a matter of what the American people will buy for the wages, as was said earlier, are one of the most expensive parts of a business. What job may be done at a tier one company, with no union, would cost, from what I have experienced up to 7 times in a corporate atmosphere, because of union. I don't agree with people wanting such high pay, in times of economic problems. But hey, that's me. Regardless, the corporations, being humans now, have the right to do what they want. We have allowed corporate personhood to continue, and the will take advantage of what rights they feel that they have through this. Now, the people, that's something entirely different to me. If people are unhappy with what is going on in corporate America, they should not support them by buying their goods and services. We just had another long standing ma and pa business go out here. And trying to upstart is getting more and more ridiculous with each coming day. The rent on these "corporate owned" units, with their high triple nets, are absolutely ridiculous. So, sure, if you are working in the corporate world, as I have, and it seems a few others here have, life is nice. But, are we looking at what the other guy is going through? We should. Especially those looking to get the jobs back from over seas. Still corporate. Won't change the property rights of the individuals trying to make a way without being in corporate America. Now will it? Have we not seen enough of what depending on corporations can do to a state? I'd like to see this chump of a gov, a big time bean counter yet, look at the little guy for what he is capable of, without the support of the corporations. Let's bring back a blend.
